Joseph A. SCANLIN, an old man 60 years of age, dropped dead Saturday evening at his home 7 miles south of the city. He was outdoors hauling wood on a hand sled and was found lying on his back in the snow. Heart disease is supposed to have been the cause. He leaves several children, all grown to man's estate. -- kbz
